Do you know that millions of lives were lost in the 90’s due to malaria disease, it took over 30 years for the world to fight back. Today, malaria claims at least 1 life every minute with most deaths occurring in the WHO Africa region, do not let history repeat itself.
World Malaria Day and this year’s theme is “Malaria Ends with Us: Reinvest, Reimagine, and Reignite.” It is time to recommit to ending malaria. We have the knowledge, life-saving tools, prevention, and treatment to fight this disease.
If you notice that you have the signs and symptoms of malaria, ensure you do a test and proper diagnosis before taking any medication. Seek a doctor or pharmacist’s advice always for proper treatment.
Personal hygiene and environmental protection measures should be considered. Stay protected with a good mosquito net, avoid areas highly infested with mosquitoes, wash away stagnant water and empty the drainages, ensure the use of good mosquito repellants, and avoid staying in congested areas.
Let’s Reinvest, Reimagine, and Reignite so that Malaria Ends with Us.
Thank you!
